At Clear Blue Coast, we partner on efforts to educate the public about the importance of ocean conservation and environmental stewardship. preserving marine ecosystems in Hawaii and around the globe while promoting sustainable environmental practices. Our organization works tirelessly with local and international organizations in support of education for and protection of sea life, with a focus on our friends in the sea turtle and manta ray communities.

Clear Blue Coast has proudly collaborated with Coastal Connections to advance marine conservation, public education, sustainable stewardship, and meaningful wildlife experiences that inspire action and environmental responsibility.
Conservation
Working together, Clear Blue Coast has supported Coastal Connections' mission to help sea turtles survive and thrive through county-wide rescue and response efforts, scientific research, and public engagement initiatives. The partnership contributes to innovative conservation programs, including the Florida Turtle Cams project, which provides unique opportunities to observe sea turtle nesting activity while supporting research and awareness. When injured, sick, or stranded sea turtles are encountered, rescue efforts help ensure they are transported to qualified rehabilitation facilities for evaluation, treatment, and eventual release back into their natural habitat whenever possible.
Experiences
Clear Blue Coast supports Coastal Connections in creating unforgettable opportunities for the public to connect with sea turtles and coastal ecosystems through responsible wildlife experiences. These programs include guided sea turtle walks, permitted nighttime nesting observations, daytime nest excavations and digs, eco-tours, and educational field experiences. By providing meaningful, firsthand encounters with wildlife, these programs foster a deeper appreciation for marine conservation and encourage participants to become advocates for ocean stewardship.
Sustainability
Together, Clear Blue Coast and Coastal Connections demonstrate how small individual actions can create significant environmental impact. Through community cleanups, marine debris removal efforts, and innovative recycling initiatives, the partnership helps reduce threats to marine wildlife and coastal habitats. Special emphasis is placed on collecting and repurposing unique plastic materials and engaging community members in practical sustainability efforts that protect local ecosystems.
Education
Education is at the heart of the partnership between Clear Blue Coast and Coastal Connections. Through community outreach programs, public presentations, school programs, special events, and conservation workshops, the organizations work to immerse people of all ages and backgrounds in marine conservation. By combining scientific knowledge with hands-on learning opportunities, the partnership helps build awareness, inspire stewardship, and empower communities to play an active role in protecting sea turtles and the marine environment for future generations.
Together, Clear Blue Coast and Coastal Connections have created a conservation impact by connecting people to marine wildlife, promoting sustainable practices, supporting sea turtle protection, and inspiring a shared commitment to healthy oceans and thriving coastal ecosystems.

Manta Ray Education, Training, and Conservation Awareness
Clear Blue Coast partners with Sea Quest Hawaii to enhance training, education, customer experience, and public awareness initiatives associated with Sea Quest Hawaii's world-renowned Manta Ray Night Snorkel experience in Keauhou Bay, Hawaii.
Through this collaboration, Clear Blue Coast worked alongside Sea Quest Hawaii's team to strengthen educational programming and interpretive messaging that connects visitors with the unique ecology, behavior, and conservation needs of Hawaii's manta rays. The partnership focused on providing guides and staff with enhanced training resources to ensure guests receive accurate, engaging, and science-based information before, during, and after their manta ray encounters.
A key component of the initiative was increasing public awareness of responsible wildlife interaction practices. Guests were educated on proper manta ray viewing protocols, emphasizing passive observation, maintaining respectful distances, avoiding physical contact, and minimizing disturbances to the animals and their natural habitat. These educational efforts help protect manta rays while promoting safe and memorable wildlife experiences.
The partnership also highlights the broader importance of marine conservation in Hawaii, including the role manta rays play in the ocean ecosystem, ongoing research and monitoring efforts, and the challenges these animals face from human impacts and environmental change. By integrating conservation messaging directly into the visitor experience, Sea Quest Hawaii is fostering greater environmental stewardship among residents and visitors alike
Through a combination of staff development, customer education, and public outreach, the partnership strengthened Sea Quest Hawaii's ability to deliver exceptional manta ray experiences while advancing long-term awareness and support for manta ray preservation in Keauhou Bay and throughout Hawaii's coastal waters
Clear Blue Coast traveled with the Coastal Connections Turtle Conservation Group to Costa Rica for an immersive educational experience focused on sea turtle conservation and marine ecosystem protection. Throughout the visit, participants engaged with local conservation professionals, researchers, and community-based organizations working directly to protect nesting beaches and safeguard vulnerable turtle populations.
During their time in Costa Rica, the group learned about the full lifecycle of sea turtles and the major threats they face, including habitat loss, illegal poaching, climate change, and marine debris. Field activities provided hands-on exposure to nest monitoring techniques, hatchling protection efforts, and data collection practices used in long-term conservation studies. These experiences highlighted the importance of science-based conservation strategies and the role of local communities in sustaining recovery efforts.
A key takeaway from the trip was the success of collaborative conservation models in Costa Rica, where environmental education and ecotourism support ongoing protection of sea turtles. Clear Blue Coast & the Coastal Connections group returned with a deeper understanding of global conservation challenges and renewed motivation to support sea turtle preservation efforts in their own communities
